ASERI INTELLIGENCE
CAHRA
Granular, continuously updated risk scores for conflict-affected and high-risk areas at national and sub-national level. Our CAHRA intelligence gives you the precision your due diligence programme demands.
WHAT ARE CAHRAs
Conflict-affected and high-risk areas demand a different standard of due diligence.
Conflict-affected and high-risk areas (CAHRAs) are geographies where armed conflict, fragile governance, or serious human rights violations create elevated risk for sourcing operations. The OECD, EU Conflict Minerals Regulation, and CSDDD each require businesses to identify CAHRA exposure and respond accordingly.
OECD Due Diligence Guidance
The OECD Guidance defines CAHRAs and requires companies sourcing minerals to identify whether their supply chains originate in or pass through such areas. Our scores are built around this definition and designed to support compliant due diligence programmes.
EU Conflict Minerals Regulation
EU importers of tin, tantalum, tungsten, and gold must assess CAHRA exposure and apply enhanced due diligence. Our intelligence supports both the assessment and the documentation your programme needs.
CSDDD & broader HRDD
Emerging mandatory human rights due diligence legislation explicitly flags high-risk geographies as requiring enhanced attention. CAHRA intelligence integrates directly into CSDDD-aligned risk assessment workflows.
Responsible sourcing programmes
Beyond regulatory minimums, leading responsible sourcing programmes use CAHRA intelligence to guide supplier engagement, set procurement criteria, and prioritise due diligence investment.
THE PRODUCT
National and sub-national scores. Continuously updated.
Most CAHRA designations in the market are binary: a country is on a list or it isn't. We go further, delivering scored intelligence that reflects the actual risk gradient across and within countries. That is where the operational decisions get made.
National-level scores
Risk scores for every country, built from conflict indicators, governance data, violence tracking, and human rights records. Updated continuously as conditions change, not on an annual refresh cycle.
Sub-national scores
Province, region, and district-level scores for countries with significant internal variation. Identifies exactly where within a country the risk concentrates, enabling targeted rather than blanket due diligence.
Continuous monitoring
Conflict situations and governance conditions change quickly. Our monitoring infrastructure tracks thousands of sources in near-real time, so your scores reflect what is happening now, not six months ago.
Audit-ready outputs
Structured outputs that integrate with your due diligence documentation, giving auditors and regulators a traceable record of your assessment.
METHODOLOGY
Scores built on evidence, not lists.
Our scores are derived from a continuously updated evidence base, not a static inclusion list. Inputs span conflict tracking, governance measures, human rights records, and sanctions data.
Conflict & violence
Armed conflict intensity and territorial control disputes, alongside political violence incidents and civilian harm indicators, drawn from multiple independent monitoring sources.
Governance & rule of law
State and institutional capacity, corruption levels, and judicial independence. These determine whether laws protecting workers and communities are enforced.
Human rights environment
Documented violations, enforcement records, and civil society space, including freedom of expression. Together they indicate the operating environment for workers, communities, and whistleblowers.
