ASERI INTELLIGENCE
Commodity risk
Risk intelligence scores for traded commodities, crossing commodity type with sourcing geography to reveal where the real exposure sits in your supply chain. Current, evidence-based, and built for regulatory due diligence.
THE PROBLEM
Commodity risk is specific. Generic country scores miss the point.
Two suppliers in the same country can face entirely different risk profiles depending on where they source. Country-level scores miss that variation, and regulations like EUDR, UFLPA, and CSDDD require a more precise answer.
EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR)
EUDR requires operators to demonstrate that specific commodities (cattle, cocoa, coffee, palm oil, soya, wood, rubber) were not produced on land deforested after December 2020. Commodity-level risk scores identify where the deforestation exposure concentrates.
Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act
UFLPA creates a rebuttable presumption that goods produced in Xinjiang or by entities on the UFLPA Entity List involve forced labour. Our commodity intelligence maps the cotton, tomato, and polysilicon supply chains where UFLPA exposure is highest.
CSDDD & mandatory HRDD
Mandatory human rights due diligence legislation requires risk-based prioritisation across supply chains. Commodity-level risk scores give compliance teams a structured basis for that prioritisation.
Conflict minerals
Tin, tantalum, tungsten, and gold sourced from conflict-affected areas require enhanced due diligence. Our commodity risk intelligence integrates directly with our CAHRA scores to flag the highest-risk commodity-geography combinations.
THE PRODUCT
Commodity scores that reflect actual risk, not averages.
Our scores are built from the intersection of commodity type and sourcing geography, capturing how risk shifts across both dimensions.
200+ commodities covered
Risk intelligence spanning agricultural commodities, minerals, and manufactured inputs, covering the commodities that feature most prominently in human rights, environmental, and governance due diligence requirements.
Sub-national granularity
Scores at province and district level for commodities where risk varies significantly within countries. Identifies the specific sourcing geographies that warrant enhanced attention within a country.
Continuously updated
Commodity risk evolves with conditions on the ground. Price shocks, seasonal patterns, and shifting conflict and regulatory dynamics all affect the picture. Our monitoring infrastructure tracks these shifts and updates scores accordingly.
Multi-dimensional scoring
Each commodity score synthesises human rights and environmental indicators alongside governance capacity and regulatory exposure. Thematic scores let you isolate the dimensions most relevant to your compliance requirements.
COVERAGE
Built around the commodities that matter most for due diligence.
Our coverage prioritises commodities that feature prominently in regulatory requirements and sector-specific due diligence frameworks.
Agricultural commodities
Deep coverage of the agricultural commodities most affected by deforestation, forced labour, and land rights regulations, from cocoa, coffee, and palm oil through to soya, cotton, rubber, timber, and tea.
Minerals & metals
Gold, cobalt, copper, and lithium for battery supply chain due diligence; tin, tantalum, tungsten, and mica for conflict minerals frameworks. Coverage built around OECD responsible minerals requirements and emerging battery supply chain regulations.
Manufactured inputs
Textiles, garments, and electronics components, along with other manufactured inputs where human rights risk concentrates in production rather than raw material sourcing.
